Monty Mason is deeply invested in the community that he first called home as a student at the College of William & Mary. Along with working a full-time job and raising two young daughters, Mason serves as Chairman of the Williamsburg Economic Development Authority. Additionally, Mason sits on the development committee of Child Development Resources, and on the board of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance. Also active at his Alma mater, Mason has not only served on several committees affiliated with W&M, but in 2002 he also received the Young Alumni Service Award.
Citing concern for his young daughters and the next generation of Virginians, Mason decided to run to represent the 93rd district. He pledges to concentrate on diversifying Virginia’s economy, increasing access to affordable healthcare, and supporting a world-class education system. If elected, two of his top prioritiess will be to support and create jobs and businesses that will grow the middle class, and to protect and restore the rights of women that have come under attack in the General Assembly.
Monty Mason is now a Senior Director for Visa, where he focuses on fraud prevention and reducing risk for banks and consumers. His 25 years of experience in business include real estate, title insurance, and finance. Mason and his wife Pamela, an assistant athletic director at W&M, have two young daughters, Taylor Anne and Hawley.
